Jared,

USA produces quality goalkeepers because of other sports that are played here in the USA that involve hand and eye coordination, like basketball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, handball, etc...

In reference to you other comment where you asked how US players can become better than players from Italy, Brazil, Spain, etc., the answer is very simple, the content of technical training. Unfortunately all published documentation here in the USA via USSF, etc., has no clue of what is needed to surpass the abvoe countries. I have done my research, testing, and implementation, so I have the solution. I have offered my services to several countries that will be playing at the next World CUP 2010, including USA, but no one accepted my offer to have me come in as a finishing consultant. So I am on my own, but presently I do have potential in finding an investor who will be able to give me the opportunity that I need, and of course it will require a major financial investment, which this investor obviously can afford, and he loves soccer, is a very intelligent man and a great business man, he is a very well traveled person, and knows the world of soccer.

So once we meet and handle all the proper paperwork, all of what I said here on this website and any other forum on the Interneet, will come true, once the wheels are set into motion.

It will the job of my players to speak for me on the soccer field, the good news is the training program that I will put them through is based on proven technology with a 30 year history.

I have also offered my services to various Brazilian agents, asking them to help me find teams in Brazil, or other countries, but they refused to help me, and of course they made statements that no country makes as many successfull soccer players within the professional market as does Brazil, which is true, but soon those numbers will be turned around, and that is one of my missions, is show that anyone, from any country can manufacture players that are better then any other country, including Brazil.

I believe my patience will soon pay off.

All the best,

Peter

About the one position the U.S. consistently produce quality players that Europe wants is our goalkeepers.

So what can we do in order to make the necessary changes? I'm tired of seeing us struggle and I'm tired of our terrible possession with the ball. I watch Italy, Spain, Brazil, and so on and they possess and work the ball up field beautifully and create so many scoring chances. What it's going to take for us to instill this style and creativity into our youth squads? I'm tired of watching long balls, poor touches, shots taken from 40 yds. out that lift a good 20 yds. over the goal, terrible trapping, and discord among the midfield and forwards.

Pete,

Thanks. I have always felt strongly about our youth development. And we are in desperate need of establishing a nation wide system that starts from the U-8's to the professional level. This will then give our youth players a better advantage if they should reach the MLS or the USMNT.

Jared,

You made a great comment, and you are correct in your assessment as to why we are still behind in soccer level to the rest of the world.

Coordinating coaches to modify their philosopphy to improve their coaching knowledge or approach is not an easy task to accomplish.

But one way is to create a club where the methods of coaching are adhered to, and in this club we teach them the proper kicking of the ball from my 30 years of research, and then in the end we will have the best soccer teams in the world.

First, if we really want to change soccer in the United States we need a stronger soccer culture that will erase the stereotypes of soccer being a girly sport in a football, basketball, hockey, baseball playing nation. If we can develop that then we will start focusing on developing our youth to play more tactically instead of playing athletically. We focus too much on athleticism instead of skill. Coaches tell kids to kick the ball, run fast and score goals without showing them strategic ways to move the ball around to where you can have more opportunities to score goals. Coaches aren't telling kids to play the ball backwards because why would you want to kick the ball in the opposite direction? It's frustrating and shows how far behind we are in today's game but we are improving. I believe that if we can change how we teach and coach pee-wee, recreational, and youth soccer then we'll starting reaping the benefits at higher levels with better polished players who have a stronger knowledge of the game. It all starts out with the kids. They are the future and eventually they will decide how this sport will develop and grow in the U.S.
