About the one position the U.S. consistently produce quality players that Europe wants is our goalkeepers.
So what can we do in order to make the necessary changes? I'm tired of seeing us struggle and I'm tired of our terrible possession with the ball. I watch Italy, Spain, Brazil, and so on and they possess and work the ball up field beautifully and c...

Pete, Thanks. I have always felt strongly about our youth development. And we are in desperate need of establishing a nation wide system that starts from the U-8's to the professional level. This will then give our youth players a better advantag...

About Me:
I work with children in a before and after care program. For the past 2 years I have implemented soccer into the curriculum and have had many children become involved in a soccer program because of it. I love soccer and I want to make it not only grow but gain the respect it deserves in a nation where basketball, football and baseball dominate all athletic agendas.

What best describes your "state of game"?
Player, Coach, Fan
Favorite Style of Play, Players, Coaches, Moments, Teams/Clubs:
Favorite moment would be in 1999, Manchester United's unbelievable comeback win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Cup Final! It still sends shivers down my spine! Sir Alex Ferguson of course would be my favorite coach and I do not have one particular favorite player. I love a lot of players from all over but I favor those in a Red Devils jersey the most!
How do you plan to help the community?
I want to help by connecting the entire footballing world together into one large football community where all footballers come to learn, grow and establish positive relationships to help further the world's beautiful game! VIVA LA REVOLUCION FUTBOLISTAS!

Visualization Tip

Soccer is not only "The Beautiful Game" but it is also "The Thinking Man's Game." Our brain is a key factor into how we play and interpret soccer. Visualization is a very powerful tool for achieving success on and off the pitch. Visualization basically means 'to imagine'. When you visualize you are deliberately imagining yourself achieving a certain goal. Whether it is scoring a goal or blocking a penalty kick visualization will help you to turn thoughts into reality. A suggestion that I learned… Continue

Hydration Tip

Although the importance of hydration is common knowledge to most all athletes, here is an added suggestion for maintaining the proper way for hydrating before and during training. Whether it is water, Gatorade, Powerade, or any other sports drink to help keep up optimal performance try to drink your fluids at room temperature. "Gross," you say? Well, ever feel water-logged? That feeling of water swishing around in your stomach while you are running? This is due to the intake of cold water or flu… Continue

Decide whether the session will be on short or long passing SHORT PASSING - TECHNIQUE
For a simple short passing practice set out a grid using 2 rows of cones 5m X 10m apart, arrange the players facing opposite each other, show them there are several different ways of receiving, controlling and passing over a10m distance.
Start with a demonstration using one of your players to pass to you, show them the technique of receiving a ball with the inside/instep, to have a good first touch, get the ball out from under their feet, head up, look up at the target and using the correct weight of pass make an accurate pass back, encourage them to be alert and on their toes to receive the ball.
Other short passes could be:
1. Receive the ball again with the instep, but drag the ball across the body and pass out using the opposite foot/instep.
2. Receive the ball with the outside of the foot, drag across the body and pass using the inside of the opposite foot.
3. Receive the ball using the outside of the foot and with the same foot, stab the ball back using the outside of the same foot.
Eventually they should be doing this under their own initiative and pairing up automatically when they arrive for training as part of their warming up preparation.
Then there is long passing – technique..... etc

ye meeting up with a coaching friend tomorrow to plan ahead for september, we involved with a local U14's boys team St. John's FC.
They play in the celtic green hoops, watched them in a friendly last week, some of the lads showed ability but need organising, so we gonna start with techiniques like passing, ball control etc while the weathers fine and the parks are free.
