Freddy Adu is leaving the MLS! The 18 year old MLS star has joined the Portuguese club Benfica. Reports have stated it is a five year deal with a transfer fee around 2million.

Freddy was signed by DC United at the age of 14 and began playing Professional soccer at the age of 15. He played with DC United until age 18 when he switched to Real Salt Lake. He had a short stay in Salt Lake as he is now leaving the states.

David Beckham made his United States soccer debut yesterday vs Chelsea FC of the Premiership. The LA Galaxy, David's team was clearly over-matched by the Premiership club. The Match was a great example of the difference between American Soccer and English Football. Now, the Galaxy are second to last in the MLS. If they can't beat MLS teams, they certainly aren't going to beat Premiership clubs.
