What is the Ziga-Zoga Football Community About?

Good day to all members of the community. Please read this message in its entirety as it should be highly important to you if you wish to benefit from being a member of Ziga-Zoga.

The number of members joining Ziga-Zoga daily is starting to grow and I thought that it was important for me to communicate some things to the new and existing members of this community.

First, Ziga-Zoga is a place for serious footballers powered by people that want to make a difference and this includes; players, coaches and serious football/soccer supporters! Our founding team is here to develop an amazing football/soccer network and support system for each and everyone one of you.

We want to help you reach your goals and in turn we hope that you will help others do the same no matter what your level or “state of game”. The best way for everyone to reach their fullest potential is by building teams and a community to support these teams. This of course takes determination, perseverance, trust, integrity and most importantly open minds. So, what exactly is community?

Below is a definition of community as defined by wikipedia.org, the world’s largest collective knowledge base developed by a global community of users:

A community is a social group of organisms sharing an environment, normally with shared interests. In human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks and a number of other conditions may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness.

The word community is derived from the Latin word communitas (meaning the same), which is in turn derived from communis, which means "common, public, shared by all or many"^[1]. Communis comes from a combination of the Latin prefix con- (which means "together") and the word munis (which has to do with performing services).

Ok, so what should this mean to you as it relates to being a member of Ziga-Zoga? It means that we are all here because we share a similar passion for the game of Football or Soccer. It also means that we are here because we are looking to fulfill some objective or goal that we want to achieve.

Now, the power of how we go about achieving our individual goals can be largely accelerated by how freely you give of your knowledge and time to help others whom you have the ability to help. So, this week as a member of this community reach out to someone and find out how you can help them. In doing so, you most likely will receive something in return. As Ziga-Zoga grows we are planning some exciting things and we will communicate these various initiatives at the appropriate time. So, please remember the importance of community and what it means. I will be in touch again soon.
